I happened to meet a US senator in India  who invited me for a drink and dinner at a  hotel where he was put up. The purpose of the meeting obviously was a public relation exercise on his part to remove what he felt was  a “ distorted picture of” the Bush administration which was emerging in world newspapers....

Watching my 12- year- old  daughter toggling the remote control  I asked her what she was looking for.  Without shifting her gaze from the television she  replied “ Today they are going to show a programme of a very  important person in Maharashtra. I don’t want to miss it”....

I was sitting in a pub near Lonavla when a man wearing a  white painted face, T shirt and long Bermuda came towards me, tapped my shoulders and said “ Hello. Didn’t you recognize me? First I thought he was a Kathakali artist from Kerala. Then I suddenly recognized him. He was Rahukal Mahadan, from the reality show “The Big Toss” where celebrities spend their days confined to a house with one by one getting tossed out....

   Now that  the once popular soap opera Kyonki Saas Bhi Kabi Bahu Thi is being yanked off the air because of its falling TRP, I heard a producer who has taken “inspiration” from this serial is now planning to launch a new serial ---KKKyonki Sasur Bhi Kabhi Damaad Tha....
